Derek Walmsley The first thing that grabs my ear is the tone of the guitar, laser sharp and perfectly balance. It's a strong basis for a great set of solo improvisations that brings a lot that you don't often get at the table: clever use of volume pedal or tremolo to make the instrument weightless and elusive, exploration of harmonics with a real love for complex tones and textures, and more. This is a player still finding his own unique spaces in this much explored mode. Favorite track: One.

FunerealDoom Han-earl achieves a gorgeously rich, harmonically saturated timbre without succumbing to blurriness or distortion (which is not an easy thing to do). His improvisations balance forward motion with a certain spaciousness-- nothing feels rushed or cluttered. Structurally, there is a sense of multiple cycles or patterns intersecting and being highlighted and toggled between. Really worth a listen! I thoroughly enjoyed it! Favorite track: One.

csz On my first listen and already one of my favorite solo guitar releases. One is a glorious, mind-warping exploration of electric guitar overtones and harmonics, with a little skroniness thrown in for additional spice. I love it. Favorite track: One.
